What role do recycled materials and recyclable garments play in fashion today?💡 Last week, we came together across teams to explore exactly that question during our Textile Recycling Week, a chance to step back, learn, and reflect on circularity today and on what the future of fashion needs to look like. Over four days, C&A colleagues from different departments had the opportunity to dive deeper into one of the most pressing challenges in our industry: how to move towards a more circular approach and make better use of the resources we already have. Throughout the week, innovators from Fashion for Good network shared their approaches and solutions first-hand, giving colleagues from our buying, design, and sourcing teams a chance to see and feel the materials up close. One key takeaway: textile recycling, despite growing momentum, is still far from being solved, with less than 1% of discarded textiles being recycled today. This made it clear just how much there is still to figure out as an industry, and how critical innovation, collaboration, and new ways of thinking will be to get there. Throughout the week, colleagues explored: ▪️ how recycled materials can reduce reliance on virgin resources without compromising quality ▪️ why some products are difficult to recycle today, and what it will take to change that ▪️ and how even small design decisions – a trim, a print, a fabric blend – can make or break a product's recyclability. Interactive sessions and hands-on formats by our Materials & Circularity Manager Shirin Araghi helped turn theory into practice, making complex topics more tangible and engaging. Shifting the focus beyond the technical details, our Head of Sustainability Sofia Skrypnyk hosted a session inviting colleagues to look beyond today, imagining different futures for the industry and the questions worth asking now. Most importantly, the week sparked curiosity, fresh perspectives, and a shared understanding: shaping a more circular future starts with the choices we make every day. 🌿 #TextileRecycling #RecycledMaterials #RecyclableProducts #CircularFashion
