𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 On March 30, Israel passed a law imposing the death penalty on Palestinians convicted of terrorism offences while exempting Jewish perpetrators. Talia Sasson, a former senior official in Israel's State Attorney's Office, calls it "fundamentally immoral and part of a larger, accelerating effort to systematically end once and for all the possibility of a Palestinian state." ‼️ The law takes effect around April 30. There is still time to act. Here is something we have learned from working with committed supporters over the past year. Even people who are genuinely horrified by what is happening rarely reach out directly to the professionals in their own networks who are quietly horrified too - but haven't yet found a way to engage. That one conversation is often the missing piece. The bigger purpose is to help the quietly horrified speak up and act effectively in their professional spaces - and to test whether that kind of leverage can move what public pressure alone has not. These sessions are how we learn whether it can. Bystanders No More is running a small number of free, facilitated action learning sessions over the next four weeks. Each session is designed to help you have exactly that conversation - with one professional contact of your choosing - and learn from it, together with others doing the same. Sessions are facilitated by trained specialists giving their time pro bono. What we learn will be shared with major INGOs working to understand how this kind of engagement can work at scale.
