Five years ago today, #Juneteenth became a U.S. federal holiday, the first new one since MLK Jr. Day was established in 1983. This date has always stood for more than a moment in time. It endures as a testament to, and celebration of, the extraordinary and unwavering spirit of those who've gone before us. As families and crowds gather this weekend to celebrate community and culture, they're grounded in purpose and power. We join in honoring the generations who persevered, making possible our tomorrows.
