In her 13 years at Microsoft, Brit Morenus has worn a lot of hats: She started as a contract executive assistant, then joined the marketing team, and eventually landed in a gamification role for six years. Eventually, she had the opportunity to start gamifying learning about AI. They wanted someone with gamification skills, and her certifications and experience made her the ideal candidate. She said she didn't know much about AI yet, aside from using it for personal reasons, but that transitioning to an AI role was actually faster than pivoting to gamification. Up until her Al role, she always joked that she wasn't using the English degree she had graduated with years earlier. But now she uses it everywhere to understand the inner workings of AI — and she says it truly does help.
