Join us in celebrating 25 years of Carrizo Plain National Monument, alongside America's 250th! Spanning approximately 250,000 acres, the area provides a mosaic of habitats that support species like the kit fox, while also offering visitors the chance to experience seasonal wildflowers and striking features such as Painted Rock, Soda Lake’s alkali flats, and sweeping open grasslands shaped by the San Andreas Fault. Captured near the Goodwin Education Center, this heartwarming footage showcases a San Joaquin kit fox mother and her kits around their den site. This is a special glimpse into the wildlife that depends on this landscape. In partnership with California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Native American Advisory Council, and Friends of the Carrizo Plain, we're able to expand our capacity to care for the land while offering meaningful educational and recreational opportunities that connect people to this extraordinary place.
