"Superman is probably the most known superhero that can see through concrete," said Birdsview Business Developer Andreas Nesse Persson in the opening of his winning pitch at last week's BuiltWorlds Demo Day Competition. "If that's what's defining a superhero, then Birdsview can let everybody become one." The Norwegian startup is making a heroic effort to secure and prolong the lifetime of the built world environment through its AI-powered, non-invasive concrete scanning solution. The company's portable 3D scanning and analysis tools combine radar, LiDAR and AI to deliver in-field results in under one minute, saving users a reported average of $100,000 or more in fieldwork costs. As opposed to invasive, traditional methods, such as drilling, this innovative technology can detect rebar and structural voids through concrete with one to three millimeter accuracy. Birdsview was one of eight AEC-focused startups to compete in the BuiltWorlds Demo Day Competition held during the 2026 Paris Global Summit. This innovation showcase was hosted by Leonard at their Paris campus, and featured judges from Kajima, Presidio Advisors, AQAR عقار, Imad Ventures, Cemex Ventures, Trimble Inc., Saint-Gobain, and Leonard. While the competition was fierce, Birdsview ultimately impressed the judges with its capability to provide fast and precise insights to enable smarter maintenance, enhance safety and reduce risk, and support sustainability and the circular economy through material reuse. Congratulations to Andreas and the team at Birdsview! 👏 Watch the full pitch at the link in the comments ⬇️
