It's been a busy day in Chicago. 🏙️ This morning, we continued programming for the CEO Annual Meeting--hearing from Alfonso Oliva, Will Cavendish, Michael Hyzy, Thai Nguyen, Kaushal Diwan, Damien Bahon, and Cutler Knupp--while the Chicago Global Summit kicked off with a site visit to Illinois Institute of Technology's innovation lab, produced in partnership with Trimble Inc. The BuiltWorlds Venture & Investment Research Track was led in a collaborative small group session by TechNexus CEO Terry Howerton. The group reconvened for an engaging afternoon of panel sessions, IIT student research presentations, and BuiltWorlds' signature Demo Day Competition featuring seven AEC-focused startups: Structured AI, Armeta, Modelizer AI, Structo, Crewscope, Sandbox Carbon, and Jobotics AI. We're excited to announce that two student research presentations were selected to receive a grant of $12,500 each funded by Graycor. Congratulations to the College of Architecture students Emmett Mach, Ivan Gonzalez-Vazquez, and Nayoung Im, who presented their winning project "(P)recast", and to College of Engineering student Seonghwan Lim, who presented their winning research in a project titled "Sensor Free Monitor System"! We'll be announcing the Demo Day winner tomorrow before diving into our final day of programming and the 2026 Mavericks Awards ceremony and reception. Keep track of what's happening at the Chicago Global Summit with the full agenda at the link in the comments!
