The power transformer is one of the most important equipments in the electrical power system. Its importance is directly related to the continuity of power supply. The reliability of this equipment depends above all on its insulation system, which, for many years, was based on the combination of solid celulose insulation and mineral oil. The thermal limitations of celulose and the environmental concerns related to mineral oil, drove the search for new solutions that would allow the operation of transformers at higher temperatures and with less impact on the environment. In this context, we are performing dielectric tests to investigate and understand the dielectric performance of new solutions, so that they can be better employed in the design of insulation systems for power transformers. This research is part of my master's work, which is currently being carried out in the Medium Voltage Laboratory of Instituto de Redes Inteligentes. It could not be done without the collaboration of HELENA WILHELM, Prof. Vitor Bender, Prof. Tiago Marchesan and Prof. Rafael Concatto Beltrame. #transformer #powertransformer #reliability #insulation #insulationsystem #dielectric #tests #master #PhD #electricalengineering
