Connecting Across Borders 🌍 I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer for International Student Welcome Week (ISWW) a week dedicated to welcoming new international students as they begin their journey in Malaysia 🇲🇾. I volunteered as a General Buddy and a Regional Buddy, I got to meet and support students from across the globe such as 🇧🇳 Brunei, 🇿🇼Zimbabwe, 🇮🇩Indonesia, 🇮🇳India, 🇪🇬Egypt, 🇨🇳China, and many more. It was more than just helping them settle in, it was about introducing them to the lively culture, languages, and daily life that made Malaysia seem like home, as well as about sharing stories to ease homesickness. Volunteering for ISWW reminded me how even small gestures like showing someone around campus, joining a casual chat can have a lasting impact.
