Interventional imaging cardiologist and head of the echocardiography department at Maastricht UMC+
π Benelux First: Philips 3D Verisight Pro (3D ICE) at Maastricht UMC+ At Maastricht UMC+, our transcatheter valve team, in close collaboration with Philips, is proud to be the first centre in the Benelux to use the new Philips 3D Verisight Pro intracardiac echo catheter during mitral edge-to-edge repair (M-TEER). Next up: T-TEER, TTVR and PVL closure! β¨ Why this matters: π 3D imaging from inside the heart β consistent, high-quality views, especially in tricuspid interventions. π€ Towards conscious sedation β fewer procedures under general anaesthesia. β€οΈ Patient comfort & workflow β less invasive, faster recovery. Every innovation comes with a new workflow to learn. With 3D ICE, the interventional echocardiographer and interventional cardiologist must refine their teamwork, while the operator develops precise handβeye coordination to steer the catheter using echo guidance. This challenge is also an opportunity: it strengthens collaboration and redefines how we work together. A big thank you to the entire Maastricht UMC+ transcatheter valve team and our partners at Philips for pioneering this step forward in structural heart interventions. Pieter Vriesendorp, Jindra Vainer, Ralph Theunissen, John Nakken, Ronny Stegen, Wouter Schmeitz, Raf Cleuren, Dominik Linz and Kevin Vernooy Thanks to our partners at Philips for the support yesterday: Berry Dwarswaard, Diana Patricia LimΓ³n Alonzo, Nils Reinkeluers, Sonny Schurink and Michael King π For some AI generated dramatic 3D ICE music sound on! π Valves = Maastricht #StructuralHeart #MitralValve #TricuspidValve #3DICE #Philips #InnovationInCardiology #MUMC #Maastricht #VerisightPro
