🎉This year marks the 125th anniversary of the meeting at the Institution of Civil Engineers which led to the creation of what became BSI. At that meeting Sir John Wolfe Barry introduced a motion💬"that a committee of six members be appointed to consider the advisability of standardizing the various kinds of iron and steel sections; and if found advisable then to consider and report as to what steps should be taken to carry such standardization into practice." This anniversary reflects not only our legacy as the world’s first national standards body, but also the enduring difference we make in the world today🌍 125 years since we were born, we now operate in 195 countries, serving over 80,000 clients, but our commitment to shaping a sustainable world is the same.
