Some would argue that Dave Chappelle is one of the greatest comedians of our lifetime and has a seat at the table some of the with greats like Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy. He has built a successful career and marches to the beat of his own drum. Here are some fun facts about Dave Chappelle. 1. Dave’s parents were both college professors, and he was the youngest of three children. 2. Chappelle graduated from Washington’s Duke Ellington School of the Arts, where he studied theater arts. 3. The first big comedic set he performed was at the Apollo Theater on “Amateur” Night and was booed off the stage. 4. Chappelle starred in his first movie at the age of 19 as “Ahchoo” in Mel Brook’s film “Robin Hood: Men In Tights.” 5. In 1998, Chappelle had the leading role in “Half Baked” that he co-wrote with Neal Brennan. 6. This creative duo created the well-known “Chappelle Show” in 2003 that aired on Comedy Central. HBO was pitched the show and passed. 7. Chappelle earned two Emmy Awards and two Grammy Awards. 8. Some of the influential people in Chappelle’s life are Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Paul Mooney, and Mel Blanc (voice of Bugs Bunny). 9.
