Some days bring both celebration and challenge. Today, we welcomed the first direct passenger flight between Brussels and São Paulo, reconnecting Belgium with South America after 25 years. This new route strengthens Brussels Airport’s international network and is the result of years of preparation and close collaboration between many partners. We are delighted to welcome LATAM Airlines to Brussels Airport and look forward to building a strong and successful long-term partnership together. Unfortunately, a day that should have been all about this milestone was overshadowed by the unexpected industrial action by air traffic controllers, disrupting the travel plans of approximately 20,000 passengers. Together with our airport partners, we have worked throughout the day to support affected passengers. Following skeyes’ announcement that Belgian airspace will reopen from 21:00, all partners across the airport community are now focused on restarting operations. Today was a reminder that an airport is a true team effort. Every partner has a role to play, and only by working together can we keep passengers moving and our country connected to the world. #WeAreBrusselsAirport #SuccessTakesATeam
