Union City, NJ has been awarded funding through the New Jersey Department of Human Services’ Senior Wellness Pilot Program, supporting a comprehensive initiative to reduce social isolation and improve quality of life for older adults. The City’s program was selected through a competitive statewide process and will receive $115,354.84 to implement a year-long model focused on wellness programming, social engagement, and targeted outreach to seniors most at risk of isolation. This initiative reflects Union City’s continued commitment to building an age-friendly community by expanding access to in-person programming, strengthening social connections, and prioritizing seniors facing language, mobility, and economic barriers.
