We are pleased to share that Brunel University of London received a national Impact Award from The UK Institute for Technical Skills & Strategy in recognition of our work on the Technician Commitment. The award was presented earlier this month at County Hall, where Brunel was recognised as one of only two institutions honoured from a national community of more than 150 signatories. The recognition highlights the vital contribution of our technical community across teaching, research and professional services, and reflects ongoing work to strengthen career pathways, invest in training and development, and ensure the long‑term sustainability of technical roles that underpin our laboratories, workshops and specialist facilities. Reflecting on the achievement, Christopher Stock, Associate Director of Technical Services, noted that “this award is not just about what we have achieved to date, but about the direction we are continuing to take”, emphasising the new three‑year action plan designed to maintain momentum and stay ahead of the curve. This award strengthens Brunel’s ongoing commitment to developing and supporting technical colleagues and the essential role they play across the University - a huge well done to everyone involved in delivering this amazing work!💙
