When a food sample is suspected to have caused illness, the work begins in the laboratory. At CVUA Stuttgart, food samples from across Baden-Württemberg are analyzed to help protect consumers, and 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢 is one of their key targets. In our latest Expert Insights, Dr. Helene Oberreuter, Martin Dyk, and Dr. Jörg Rau share how they validated a new AI-based classifier for the IR Biotyper®, to distinguish important 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢 serogroups. What makes this story interesting is not only the applied use of the infrared spectroscopy technology. It is how it supports everyday laboratory life. The validated method can help routine labs move from time-consuming workflows towards faster and simpler differentiation of common 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢 serogroups, supporting food control and animal health diagnostics. A strong example of how practical innovation can reduce workload, improve efficiency, and support laboratories where every result matters. Read the full Expert Insights below.
