A garden planted by the Brown community continues to grow. Bulbs are in bloom, and colorful rocks painted by Brown University staff members now dot the reflection garden near Brown’s Engineering Research Center, adding messages of hope, creativity and care to a space dedicated to remembrance, reflection and healing. Created by students, faculty and staff in the aftermath of the Dec. 13, 2025, shooting, the garden was cultivated in coordination with Brown Ever True, the University's whole-campus healing and recovery initiative. Using compost made from flowers left at temporary memorials in the wake of the tragedy, the blooming garden and hand-painted rocks reflect the compassion, resilience and sense of community that continue to help carry the Brown community forward. 📸 Image credit: Nick Dentamaro
