Australia's early childhood system is meant to support every child but for many families, navigating it can feel impossible. At our recent BSL Talks webinar, Leah Robertson BSL's Senior Manager Early Years, spoke candidly about the barriers families face when trying to access early childhood support: fragmented services, long wait times, and a system that too often fails to meet families where they are. Leah shared insights from BSL's Early Years Integrated Approach that is helping families learn about and navigate the system so they can get the right support at the right time. Rather than placing the burden on families to figure it out alone, integrated service design means the system works with families, not against them. As Thriving Kids moves toward implementation, this kind of joined-up, community-embedded approach will be essential to ensuring that the families who face the greatest barriers aren't left behind.
