M.S. Cybersecurity Graduate (SJNY - May 2026) | Cybersecurity Specialist in Technology & Compliance | Risk Management & Digital Forensics
After being away from school for 25 years, it still feels surreal to share that I graduated on May 19, 2026 with my Master of Science in Cybersecurity from St. Joseph’s University, New York (Long Island Campus) — exactly 27 years and 4 days after earning my last degree in 1999. This past year, I completed a 9‑month cybersecurity internship with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office (SCDA) in the Information Security Management Unit (ISMU) here on Long Island. I gained hands‑on experience in cybersecurity governance, compliance, digital forensics exposure, incident response preparation, and supporting a major public‑sector organization strengthening its security posture after a cyber incident. This experience gave me valuable insight into the security needs of government agencies, corporate environments, and MSP/MSSP operations — where resilience, accountability, and adaptability are essential. To build a strong technical foundation, I completed extensive LinkedIn Learning coursework and hands‑on RangeForce cyber labs, developing practical skills in: - Threat detection & triage - SOC fundamentals - Vulnerability management - Network security - Digital forensics basics - Risk & compliance frameworks I’m now actively exploring opportunities across NYC and Long Island in: - Cybersecurity Analyst - SOC Analyst (Tier 1) - Information Security Analyst - GRC / Compliance Analyst - Digital Forensics (Entry-Level) I’m excited to bring my education, discipline, and real‑world experience into a cybersecurity role — whether in government, corporate security, or MSP/MSSP environments. If your team is hiring or open to connecting, I’d truly appreciate the opportunity. #Cybersecurity #InformationSecurity #NYJobs #LongIslandJobs #SOCAnalyst #GRC #DigitalForensics #MSP #MSSP #PublicSector #CorporateSecurity #CareerJourney #MSCybersecurity #SJNY
