This #RefugeeWeek explores the theme of #courage – whether facing unknown journeys, learning new languages, or navigating unfamiliar systems. For those rebuilding their lives after receiving refugee status in the UK, an important part of their journey is finding safe and affordable #housing. 🏠 Every day, we see the courage it takes to navigate unfamiliar systems like the UK housing market. To make the journey that little bit easier, it is important that the surrounding systems provide clear, consistent support. Six months ago, we launched a free, trusted video resource for people living in asylum hotels. It provides clear, accurate and consistent guidance on housing options after leaving asylum accommodation, helping people make informed decisions at a critical point in their journey. Created in partnership with the Refugee Council and London boroughs, this film is shaped by insights from our outcomes-based Refugee Services, alongside feedback from the Greater London Authority and the UK Home Office. It is a practical tool for charities, frontline services and local authorities to support refugees on their housing journey – available in eight languages: Arabic, Amharic, English, Farsi, Kurdish Sorani, Pashto, Tigrinya and Urdu. 🎥 Watch the video here: https://lnkd.in/e-QvwDZX 🗣️ Share it widely to help refugees start their new chapter with clarity and confidence. 💛 Learn more about Refugee Week here: https://refugeeweek.org/ A huge thank you to our partners whose collaboration, data, and insights helped shape this important piece of work.
