This doctoral research will focus on advancing AI-driven Earth Observation (EO) methods for environmental intelligence. 🔬 Research Themes & Tasks The selected candidate will explore cutting-edge AI and machine learning approaches to analyze multi-modal, multi-temporal, and multi-resolution satellite imagery alongside geospatial data. 📋 Candidate Profile Admission Requirements: Education: A Master's degree in Geomatics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related natural sciences/engineering disciplines. Must meet standard basic eligibility for Swedish postgraduate education. Core Skills: Strong proficiency in image analysis, computer vision, pattern recognition, and machine learning/deep learning, backed by a solid data science background. Programming & Languages: Proficient coding skills in Python, C++, and Matlab. Candidates must demonstrate fluent spoken English and excellent scientific reading/writing skills, fulfilling the mandatory English B/6 requirement. Assets: Prior experience working with generative AI or geospatial foundation models is highly valued. 📅 Contract, Benefits & Timeline Location: KTH Campus, Stockholm, Sweden. Duration: The position is for a maximum 4-year full-time equivalent doctoral contract, structured to target a Licentiate degree within an initial two-year employment period. Contracts are renewed sequentially. Up to 20% of the role may include training or departmental administration.
