When Adobe released a patch for the recent Acrobat Reader zero day, I decided to take another look at Fleet's Patch Management capabilities. The team at Fleet has come along way with this feature, but I was surprised at just how quickly a patch policy could be created and deployed. When I say quickly, I mean 5 steps. 1. Click 'Add software'. 2. Scroll to 'Adobe Acrobat Reader' in the list, click 'Add'. 3. Click 'Add software' (this uploads the patch to your Fleet server for you). 4. Choose 'Patch' from the Actions menu to create the policy, then click 'Add'. 5. Enable the automation on the policy page. I didn't have to create the query and I didn't have to source the package, since it was one of Fleet's maintained apps.
