Discipline Equals Freedom I first came across this phrase after reading Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. They translated military discipline into business discipline. At first, it seemed a little, well, extreme. But when I dug deeper into the core principles, I realized we all need this in our sales days: - Protecting your selling hours vs everything else - Having authentic dialogue with your customers - Managing your priorities vs “emergencies” that pop up throughout the day - Giving clear and concise communication when interacting with others By taking a step back and detaching from the stresses and craziness sales provides, it gives an opportunity to reflect and find clarity. Maybe it frees up time for you to make more cold calls, stick around to have a chat with a physician you haven’t seen in a while, prep for the following day, etc. Sure, things pop up that are out of our control, but if we stay disciplined on what we can control, we’re setting ourselves up for sales success! #salesstrategy #dme #jocko #extremeownership #communication #sales
