Why I’m so hopeful for the next generation of leaders. My husband, Scott, and I were able to attend our daughter’s senior homecoming parade at the beginning of October. Watching Christina serve as captain of her swim team—leading with confidence and humility—made me reflect on Concordia’s mission: “To influence the affairs of the world by sending into society thoughtful and informed men and women dedicated to the Christian life.” As an alum, it’s deeply satisfying to see my daughter and her classmates—the next generation—maturing in their readiness to influence the affairs of the world. It’s easy to feel discouraged when we look around and see so much instability. But weekends like this one remind me: the future of faithful leadership is bright.   Once a Cobber, always a Cobber. 💛
