Supporting talented healthcare professionals 💙 Breaking Barriers is proud to have joined forces with Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust to create meaningful opportunities for healthcare professionals from forced migration backgrounds. Together we are already seeing inspiring progress. One doctor, supported by our Re-accreditation team to obtain her GMC registration, has begun a clinical attachment at the Trust. This is a crucial step for the doctor, enabling her to: 💡 Develop an understanding of the NHS 💡 Build professional networks 💡 Move closer to employment The Trust has also begun referring healthcare professionals to our Language Programme for support with their Occupational English Test [OET] preparation. For internationally trained healthcare professionals, this is often the first step to kickstarting a career in the UK. We're delighted to provide this support and help create a much-needed pipeline of skilled and dedicated professionals for the NHS. Partnerships like this demonstrate what’s possible when organisations work together to remove barriers and recognise the incredible talent that refugees bring to the UK healthcare system. Lawrence Kelly (pictured on the left with members of the BWC Aspire Team), People Partnerships and Programme Manager at the Trust said: “Breaking Barriers and the Birmingham Women’s & Children’s NHS Trust share the commitment and values of celebrating health professionals returning to practise in the UK. We are proud of the partnership and the positivity it brings for all.” To find out more about our Language and Re-accreditation Programmes, follow the link in the comments. #RefugeeSupport #InclusiveEmployment #NHS
