We are proud to announce that our upcoming video game, "Stiklestad", is an official part of the National Jubilee 2030 under the millennium theme "Young for 1000 years": https://lnkd.in/eYSYYfPY In the early 11th century, a power struggle raged for dominance in the countries around the North Sea. The Anglo-Saxon king, Æthelred, ruled over an England rich in gold, but full of instability and headstrong nobles. From Denmark, the young Danish king Cnut attempted to conquer his lands. Caught in the middle was the ambitious Norwegian Viking king Olav Haraldsson, a mysterious figure with his very own agenda. It is during this tense period, specifically the summer of 1030 in Norway, that the events of our game take place. The game is a historical, narrative-driven RPG about ideology, conviction, and interpretation. You play as a young, orphaned messenger, navigating the massive cultural shift between Norse ideals and the arrival of Christianity. The project combines research, cultural heritage, and modern interactive storytelling to create engagement and new insights into one of Norway's most decisive historical events.
