Did you know 1 in 5 Kiwis are sleeping in rooms colder than 14 degrees? And 41% of Kiwis are sleeping in rooms 16 degrees or colder. This can cause significant health risks, as covered by Three News. The finding was part of the most significant research into home temperatures in 20 years. BRANZ Senior Scientist, Vicki White, explained that although people might feel comfortable with an extra blanket - the real health concern is the temperature of the air you breath. 👉 Average bedroom temperatures drop to 16.5°C overnight 👉 By morning, they fall to 15.7°C That’s a real concern when we know: 👶 Children should sleep in 20°C+ 👨👩👧 Adults need at least 18°C There is progress: 🏠 Living rooms now average 20.4°C - warmer than 20 years ago But bedrooms are still lagging behind - with real impacts on health and wellbeing.
