After the flood - what do we do now? As many households across the North Island work to put their homes back together after severe flooding, questions remain about what comes after the initial clean-up - and how people can better protect their homes in the future. Our senior materials scientist Catherine Nicholson joined RNZ’s Nine to Noon to discuss what BRANZ research is revealing about rebuilding safely and effectively after flood damage. Catherine is also co-lead of our Resilience research project, RESCUE (Resilience via Evaluation, Science, Climate Understanding & Engineering) - a programme focused on helping homeowners adapt, recover and strengthen their homes against future climate-driven events.
