📖 New paper out from our team in Dalton Transactions (Inorganic #RSCInorg#RSCInorg), led by Kyle O'Donoghue and working with Dr Daniel Geddes, Tom Wilkinson, Martin Stennett, and Byoungkwan Kim from School of Chemical, Materials and Biological Engineering at the University of Sheffield, and dinu iuga from The University of Warwick, and Martin Hayes from United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory, funded by EPSRC. We used high-field multinuclear MAS NMR and synchrotron XANES to demonstrate how strontium salt solubility dictates its immobilisation mechanism within geopolymers, important for development of new cementitious wasteforms for the long-term management of radioactive waste ☢️ Free to read here: High-field multinuclear MAS NMR and synchrotron XANES reveal the influence of strontium salt chemistry on geopolymer nanostructure https://lnkd.in/egZY7Sjz SMASH (Sustainable Materials @ Sheffield)
