A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck parts of Balochistan on Saturday morning, leaving more than 90 houses destroyed or severely damaged in Musakhel and injuring over 20 people, including women and children. According to local authorities, the tremors were felt across Musakhel, Barkhan, Rakhni and Kohlu. The quake's epicentre was located about 58 kilometres northeast of Barkhan, while communication links to several remote areas remain disrupted. The worst damage was reported in Kangari, Rarasham and Kajhori, where several homes either collapsed or sustained major structural damage. Rescue and relief teams have been dispatched to the affected areas, while officials continue assessing losses and restoring access to cut-off communities. The latest earthquake comes just a day after three separate tremors jolted Kohlu and surrounding districts, raising concerns over continued seismic activity in the region.
