Are ESG headwinds changing organisations’ sustainability priorities? Brambles' Chief Sustainability and Product Innovation Officer Juan Jose Freijo joined Estelle Parker, CIO Michael Clancy from Rest, CIO Tom King from Nanuk Asset Management Pty Ltd, Director- Corporate Finance Andrew Driscoll from Fortescue to discuss how sustainability remains firmly on the agenda at the recent Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA) Conference. They agreed that sustainability was increasingly embedded in core business processes from resilience planning to reporting and strategy – making it harder to reverse if sentiment shifts. Speaking on sustainability leadership in complex times, Juan Jose Freijo said the current environment called for a new kind of sustainability leader: part idealist, shaping where we need to go, and part business pragmatist, ensuring stakeholders are taken on the journey. Brambles' circular business model remains our foundation. Our 2030 sustainability targets focus on scaling impact and advancing regenerative supply networks. Leading on nature is practical as it underpins our business and informs how we engage with investors. As global supply chains face continuous disruptions, circular business models, along with resource and energy efficiency, are becoming more important. This is how sustainability drives real value creation for our business, our customers and importantly, our investor community, whose voice plays a significant role in guiding organisations down the right path. #sustainability #regenerativesupplynetworks
