It is with profound sadness that we mark the passing of David Hockney, one of the most important artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and a son of Bradford. David leaves an extraordinary and inspiring legacy, seeing beauty in the ordinary all around him. He drew and painted every day, a reflection in a glass of water, the view from his window, his favourite people, he was endlessly experimental and playful truly embodying the spirit of the artist. His practise is an example to us all, to make time and see that “The world is very, very beautiful if you look at it”. Our deepest condolences go to David's partner, Jean-Pierre, and to all his family and friends.
