MINISTER MATSHEKA TOUR BHC PROJECTS IN THE NORTHERN REGION Last the Minister of Infrastructure & Housing, Honorable Thapelo Matsheka toured some of the ongoing BHC projects in the Northern Region. The tour kicked off in Palapye where the Minister was taken to the Palapye 107 housing development which is currently up for sale. He then proceeded to the ongoing construction of flats still in Palapye. The Minister got to appreciate progress as well as challenges some of which were occasioned by the covid-19 pandemic. The Corporation is also building record centres on behalf of land boards around the country including in Palapye and the Minister got to appreciate progress there as well. The tour later took the Minister’s entourage to Tati Siding where the Minister got to appreciate the Tati Siding 100 project which was recently advertised for sale and rental to Batswana. He also tour a guided tour of Galo Mall Extension which is a venture owned 50/50 by BHC and Nafprop. The Minister finally made a stop at Goshwe village to appreciate a SHHA turnkey housing Project built for Ms. Tebogo Manka. When briefing the Minister and his delegation, Manager Project Quality Assurance, Mr. Benjamin Olebile said SHHA Projects in Nkange Constituency, which Goshwe village falls under have been successfully completed and handed over. Project Quality Assurance Office, Mr Onalenna Lekalake further explained that Ms. Manka’s house has been constructed by a female youth contractor who delivered it as expected, that is with budget and the specified time. The Minister applauded BHC for a sterling job they did with different projects they embarked on. He however expressed concern that there is need for different stakeholders to align themselves accordingly in the development of community infrastructure which would enable the Corporation to focus on its mandate of building houses and delivery of projects without delays.
