Congratulations to Healing Pup Sara, and her companion, Deb Goldfarb, LICSW, for being honored at Fenway Park last week. Through BMC's Healing Pups program, Sarah provides comfort, connection, and a calming presence for patients and families during some of life's most challenging moments. All Healing Pups crew members have completed rigorous training and behavioral evaluation to become certified therapy dogs. Sara often accompanies Deb in her work at the Grayken Center for Addiction, where she works with people experiencing acute psychiatric crises, trauma, homelessness, and addiction. Deb's work also focuses on initiatives related to the criminalization of addiction and supporting people in the justice system. This recognition is a reminder that healing takes many forms and celebrates the impact therapy dogs can have as part of a holistic, person-centered approach to care.
