Dr. Sophia Henzler joined BCG's Pride Network and found something she didn't expect: some of her closest friends at work. But the more she engaged, the more she noticed a gap. Women within the LGBTQ+ community were showing up less, not because they didn't belong, but because many didn't feel like they did. Bisexual women in heterosexual relationships. People who identified as queer but couldn't see themselves reflected in the network. People who didn't have a label yet and weren't sure that was okay. So Sophia started hosting informal events, sharing stories, and creating visibility. What began as a local initiative in Central Europe became Beyond the G - scaled across EMESA to make Pride more open to the full spectrum of identity. The idea behind it is straightforward: if you don't see yourself represented, it's harder to walk through the door. And the pressure of not having a label is its own kind of stress.
