From the Gold Coast to The Hague: Bond Law are world champions! Bond University students have claimed the top prize at the 2026 International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition, defeating 93 teams from around the world to be crowned champions in The Hague. After nine months of intensive preparation, Lachlan Croser, Laila Chequer de Souza, Fletcher O'Connell and Kathleen Trafford delivered an outstanding performance on the global stage, showcasing the advocacy, legal reasoning and teamwork that define Bond Law. Their success was recognised with an extraordinary collection of awards: - ICC Moot Court Competition Champions - Best Regional Team (Americas & Oceania) - Second Runner-Up Best Prosecution Team - First Runner-Up Best Speaker for the Prosecution – Laila Chequer de Souza The team's Grand Final performance was the culmination of countless hours of preparation, mentorship and support from the Bond community. A special thank you to coach Assistant Professor Elizabeth Greene, whose expertise, guidance and unwavering commitment helped lead the team to international success. As Liz reflected: "This win is a testament to the team's hard work, determination, and commitment to excellence."
