Mechanical Engineer Maurice Hensel begins his day with coffee. After that, it’s time to feed the cats and bike to Bollinger HQ — or, right now, just log right into his morning slate of meetings from home. Maurice is generally in meetings for the first couple hours of his day. After that, he’s working in CAD, designing the next generations of our battery and hydraulic system. Maurice has been really grinding on the hydraulic system. Our original hydraulic system was quite heavy and generated too much heat and noise for our tastes. To address this, Maurice created a new system architecture that uses fewer parts and vastly reduced overall heat, noise, and total weight of the system. When not designing next-gen battery and hydraulic systems, Maurice is using the quarantine time to work on his 1991 E30 BMW — including driving it as much as he can while the streets are relatively empty, brush up his trombone skills, master slapping the bass (google Detroit by Marcus Miller or anything by Victor Wooten), and fix up his new house.
