To all my Charlotte German friends 🇩🇪, I know we’re right in the middle of the World Cup excitement, but I have to share some fantastic local news: the Charlotte Hornets just drafted future basketball superstar Hannes Steinbach (from Würzburg, Germany) with the 14th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft! A talented 6'11" big man out of the University of Washington, Hannes brings size, skill, rebounding prowess, and international experience to Buzz City. This is huge for our Hornets, there’s a real reason to be excited about next season and the bright future of Charlotte basketball.
