The latest issue of The Debrief is here. It is an exciting one — as the Olympic Flame shines in Milan we are allowing the spirit of sports shine through in our issue, to explore the fascinating intersection between athletics and fashion at such an opportune moment. There is a lot to cover: the Olympics, of course. Giorgio Armani and Prada Group made a particularly strong impression, showing the power of an Olympic sponsorship. We see how sporting events can allow artistry to blossom through the photographer Giampaolo Sgura's work documenting the lives of thousands of Olympic volunteers. But we also cannot forget the Super Bowl and Bad Bunny's blockbuster performance (dressed in ZARA). For our Spotlight, staff writer Eduard King Härtel does divert from sports to explore another perennial topic in fashion, sustainability. He does so with a personal, on-the-ground perspective after a recent visit to a used-textile distribution centre in Canada, where he saw first-hand the waste and environmental destruction that the industry causes. It is important to acknowledge the dark side of fashion, and more specifically, how we can work to eliminate it, as Härtel does in his analysis. Click the link to read the latest issue!
