Our Chief Product Officer, Jaco Roux, breaks down the 5 essential tools that drive his productivity and strategy at Bob. 1. Claude (Web & Chrome Extension) My main thinking partner across strategy, code review, hiring, and writing. The Chrome extension is the underrated hero here; it lets Claude operate right alongside whatever I'm doing in the browser, eliminating context-switching. As AI Officer, I'm highly deliberate about the tools I rely on. Claude earns its place by pressure-testing my reasoning rather than just agreeing with me. 2. Claude Code Great for greenfield builds, refactoring, understanding codebases, and surfacing bugs before they hit production. I still write the specs and make the high-level architecture decisions, but implementation work that used to take days now takes hours. 3. Figma Our entire design-to-code pipeline runs here. The integration story between design and engineering has shifted dramatically over the last year, and getting that handoff right is one of the highest-leverage things a product organization can do. 4. Grafana Everything operational at Bob lives in Grafana on top of PostgreSQL. I prototype reports there before formalising them in-platform. Put simply: if I can't see it in a dashboard, I can't make a decision on it. 5. YouTube & X They aren't productivity tools in the traditional sense, but they are essential. The AI space is moving faster than any release cycle; what was best practice three months ago is often outdated today. I spend real time on both platforms tracking what's shipping, what's working, and what's just hype. Staying current isn't optional anymore; it's part of the job.  What’s the one tool in your tech stack you absolutely can’t live without right now? Drop it in the comments!
