Sales rose 3.5 percent to 87,468 at Hyundai and 1.9 percent to 80,502 at Kia last month, the companies reported June 2. Sales at both companies had declined in March and April. Retail demand ― up 2 percent at Hyundai and 11 percent at Kia ― remained healthy despite economic challenges across the industry. This story will be updated as more automakers report their results.
