Project Spotlight 📚✨In 2014, Bob D. Campbell provided structural engineering services for the transformation of the Lawrence Public Library, in partnership with Multistudio and the City of Lawrence, KS. The project featured an elevated 1-story steel-framed addition with a concrete slab on form deck, including a portion cantilevered off the original structure. Nearly 66,000 SF of renovations reimagined the existing building into a brighter, more open civic space. Key highlights included a new grand concrete stair, skylights with pop-up roof forms bringing in natural light ☀️, and removal of an existing concrete column to open up the interior and improve flow. 🏆 Recognized with multiple honors including the 2015 Landmark Library Award, AIA Kansas Honor Award, AIA/ALA Library Building Award, and LEED Gold certification.Chris Beverlin, PE, SE served as Project Manager, helping bring the vision to life.
