Most people set goals based on what feels achievable. The best leaders don’t. They set goals that force them to think differently. In a recent conversation, Nathan Pettyjohn shared that he set a goal to help 100 million people. On the surface, that sounds unrealistic. Maybe even unnecessary. But that’s exactly the point. An audacious goal isn’t about the number. It’s about what it does to your thinking. It pushes you out of incremental decisions and into exponential ones. It forces you to build differently, connect differently, and lead differently. Because you can’t reach a goal like that with the same mindset that created your current results. The question isn’t whether you’ll hit the number. The question is—does your goal challenge you enough to change how you think?
