For the fourth year in a row, our very own BRP founder, Salena S. Guipzot, will Emcee the Girls Empowerment Summit (GES) event happening this Friday & Saturday at UTSA. The City of San Antonio is hosting the annual Girls Empowerment Summit for middle school and high school-aged girls in San Antonio. This year's theme is Girls Can STEM! Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, or STEM, will present about breaking into their career fields and teach girls ways to overcome obstacles in STEM careers. Despite many advances in gender equity, there are still significant gaps in gender parity in STEM fields. A report from MIT showed that in 2023, only 28% of those in the STEM workforce identified as women. This year's Girls Empowerment Summit will provide opportunities to help break down those barriers to STEM.
