Time to say goodbye After more than three decades with Seco Tools, I believe it’s time to embrace a new chapter in my life. My journey with Seco has been truly incredible. I started in Denmark, working in sales and engineering, before becoming Managing Director. Ten years later, I had the opportunity to move to Shanghai as Managing Director for Seco China – a four-year adventure filled with learnings, growth, and the timeless reminder that “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” Following that, I spent nearly six years in Germany, first as Managing Director, and later overseeing Central Europe, culminating in my responsibilities for North Europe. Throughout this journey, I’ve been fortunate to work with so many talented people and build lifelong friendships, for which I am deeply grateful. What’s next? First, a well-deserved holiday with my family. After that, I remain open and curious. Retirement may be one path – but I still feel the energy and drive to contribute where I can create value. One of the most rewarding parts of my career has been leading companies to succeed in challenging markets like China and Germany – where cultural understanding, long-term strategy, and local adaptation are essential. Applying Nordic leadership principles across these complex environments has given me valuable insights into building trust and succeeding across borders. Perhaps these insights and my experience could be valuable to companies aiming to expand or strengthen their presence in China, Asia, or Germany? I still have the motivation and desire to contribute – and I’m open to supporting companies as a consultant, advisor, board member, or similar, where I can share my expertise and offer strategic guidance If you see a potential fit – or know someone who might – feel free to reach out or share this post within your network. I’m always open for a good conversation. Thank you, Seco Tools, and everyone I’ve had the pleasure to work with along the way. Wishing all of you continued success and growth!
