Engie has completed a €1.6 billion and inaugural £400 million triple-tranche green hybrid bond. Net proceeds from the transaction will be used to finance or refinance part of the acquisition of 100% of UK Power Networks and in whole or in part other existing or future Eligible Green Projects. The transaction received a positive investor reception, reaching circa €7 billion on the euro tranches. BNP Paribas acted as Joint Global Coordinator on all three tranches. This follows the Bank’s role as Financial Advisor on the acquisition; and as Joint Underwriter of bridge facilities and Joint Global Coordinator on an ABB - all accompanying ENGIE through a fully integrated platform across M&A, loan, debt, equity capital markets, and strong expertise in the Utilities sector.
