Turning interns into teammates: From first sketches to first jobs — a journey we’re proud to share. Since 2019, Designworks Munich has been supporting the “Global Design Internship Program” of  KIDP — the Korean government organization dedicated to promoting design and fostering #youngdesigntalent. This includes the annual six-month supervision of a hands-on mobility design project, where the designers benefit from our practical experience in automotive design while the Designworks team enjoys new cultural perspectives from young Korean designers. And sometimes, we’re so impressed by the skills of the young talents that we bring them on board after they graduate. Turning interns into teammates. That’s what we call a successful #collaboration. “At Designworks, our role is to bring an ‘outside-in’ perspective to the BMW Group, and collaborating with KIDP helps us do just that — opening our eyes to the ideas of younger generations and to perspectives shaped by very different cultural backgrounds.”    |   Lee Jung Hoon (Hoony), Creative Director and supervisor for the KIPD collaboration. “I got to know Designworks in 2020 through its collaboration with KIDP — an invaluable experience for me as a student. Today, I’m part of the creative team at Designworks Munich, working on projects from Salone del Mobile to movie experiences at the BMW Museum — and the excitement from those early days is still alive.”   | Suyoung Park (Su), Interaction Designer.  “I first got to know Designworks through KIDP. After a six-month internship, I joined the team as an interaction designer presently working on brand experience apps for various BMW Group brands. I love that Designworks keeps collaborating with students — it’s such a great way to help young designers gain confidence and find their path.”   | Byeori Jeon (Ria), Interaction Designer. #DesignCareers #MobilityDesign #CulturalExchange #InternshipProgram #kidp
