šŸŽ™ļø In case you missed it on Bluestock Talk... One of our favorite (and most viewed) conversations thus far explores a topic that touches healthcare, policy, neuroscience, and the language we use to understand them all. In this clip, Taylor Nichols, MD MS - emergency physician, addiction medicine specialist, and healthcare policy advocate - shares a perspective with Allison Komiyama, PhD, RAC that may be surprising: "Opioids are fundamental to our existence." Why? Because our bodies naturally produce opioid-like compounds and have opioid receptors built into our biology. Understanding that science doesn't erase the very real challenges of addiction, but it does remind us that healthcare conversations are often more nuanced than the headlines suggest. That's one of the reasons we enjoyed this discussion so much. Dr. Nichols has a gift for helping people think differently about complex topics, from addiction medicine and public health to innovation and healthcare systems. If you missed this episode the first time around, it's well worth a listen. šŸŽ„ Watch the clip below and catch the full Bluestock Talk conversation with Dr. Taylor Nichols here: https://lnkd.in/gws8CxXJ #BluestockTalk #MedTech #HealthcareInnovation #AddictionMedicine #PublicHealth #HealthcareLeadership #DigitalHealth
