The biggest health risks in textiles are not in the clothes. They are in making them.   Workers in dyeing, finishing, and coating facilities can be exposed daily to solvents, reactive chemistries, and CMR substances. The International Labour Organization estimates that more than one billion workers worldwide are exposed to hazardous substances at work.   The legal duty to provide safe working conditions sits with the manufacturer.
