The morning started damp in Essex, with wet grass underfoot and the sky already getting lighter over the fairgrounds as Girls on the Run Vermont runners, coaches, families, and volunteers began to gather. By the time runners made their way through the course and toward the finish line, there were people cheering for them all along the way: coaches keeping pace, families calling out from the side, and volunteers helping the morning run smoothly. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont supports Girls on the Run Vermont as statewide sponsor, and we were grateful to spend the morning alongside everyone who showed up for these runners today.
